Storage space is the amount of information and images you can place online at one time. Most basic web sites take much less than 10MB of storage space. But, we allow our clients to use much more than that in any one of our Hosting Services. Any client can get additional storage space in blocks of 20MB for $5/month.

What is bandwidth? Can I get more?
Bandwidth is the amount of information you can send to users worldwide each month. Many web sites take less than 1GB of bandwidth each month. But, we allow our clients to use much more than that in any one of our Hosting Services. Any client can get additional bandwidth in blocks of 3GB for only $15/month.

What are FTP/Email Accounts? Can I get more?
FTP is the most common way of updating web sites on the Internet. Common FTP programs include WS_FTP and CuteFTP. Email (POP) Accounts are the actual mailboxes used to receive email. You can use just about any standard email program with our accounts, including Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Express, Eudora, and Netscape. Also, you can check any POP account online at www.MailOnThe.Net. Each of our Hosting Services comes with a set number of FTP or Email accounts included. Additional FTP or Email accounts are available for $1/month each, after a one-time $5 setup charge.

What are Email Forwarding Accounts? Can I get more?
Each of our Hosting Services also includes a set number Email Forwarding Addresses. For example, you could have a sales@yourname.com automatically forward (also called "alias") to yourname@yourisp.com so that you would appear to have more than one email address, or a more professional one. Additional Email Forwarding Accounts are available for $5/year each, after a one-time $5 setup charge.

Can I use Microsoft FrontPage?
Yes! Any Standard or higher account comes with free Microsoft FrontPage Extensions support. This allows you to update your web site directly through Microsoft FrontPage without having to use FTP.

What are Virtual Domains? Can I have more than one web address?
Virtual Domains allow you to have more than one .com, .net, or .org at your site. You can set up www.myname2.com to point to www.myname.com/something/. That way, when a visitor goes to www.myname2.com, they'll see the same thing they would if they were to go to www.myname.com/something/. However, this process is completely transparent, so the user will never see that they're actually looking at www.myname.com. This is perfect for resellers who build web sites for their customers. What is the web-based Control Panel? How do I use it?
All of our hosting clients now have access to a special web-based Control Panel that allows you to manage accounts, domains, and more. Also, if you're a reseller, you can get a branded version of the Control Panel for your customers! What is a CGI-BIN and how do I use it?
CGIs (which stand for Common Gateway Interface) are special programs written for the Internet. This includes order forms, guest books, and search engines. Can I customize my server error messages (404, etc)?
Yes! You can create web pages called 404.html (file not found), 403.html (forbidden), and 500.html (internal error) in a directory called "errordocs". Then, email us at support@radiotower.net and request that custom error messages be enabled on your domain. There is no charge for this service.

What do you do to insure reliable service?
All of our servers are monitored 24 hours a day. Should something go wrong, we keep all information backed up off-site. And just in case nature decides to be unkind, all of the servers are backed up by redundant UPS units. You can find out more about our servers and network on the About Our Hosting page.
